Profile of Kaya:
It is with a heavy heart that we have to part with our 6-month-old American Akita bitch Kaya (date of birth April 17, 2024). Unfortunately, she is not compatible with our older bitch (also an American Akita), so we cannot keep both dogs together. Kaya comes from the American Dream Devils and has FCI papers. She is of course fully vaccinated.<
Kaya has already attended a puppy course where she learned the basic commands. These should now be consolidated in another course. As long as Kaya is not distracted, she is very docile. She has also already learned the basics of blanket training.
Kaya is a loving dog to her caregivers, who also demands her caresses and enjoys them very much. However, you have to set clear boundaries for her in everyday life, as she finds them difficult to tolerate.
Walking in open areas works well. She has a healthy hunting instinct and her recall needs to be developed, so she should definitely be kept on a leash. In town with distractions, she can quickly become overwhelmed. It is advisable to keep her walks consistent, as this gives her security.
She currently lives in a house with two children (10/13), whom she tolerates and accepts. If she finds a new home with a family, the children would need to be at least the same age.
Short journeys in the car are no problem for her.
Kaya is a confident, strong-willed, but also very loving dog who knows exactly what she wants. She still needs to be trained with a lot of consistency. She should definitely be kept as a single dog, as she shows authoritarian behavior. So far she has not shown any barking behavior.
Kaya loves to be kept busy with sniffing and search games. Here you have to make sure that she is mentally stimulated. A garden with a large run is essential for her, as she loves being outside and sometimes behaves in a confined manner in the house. At night, however, this is not a problem.
She can stay at home alone for short periods of time (30-45 minutes). However, intensive training should continue to be required.
Of course, Kaya still has a lot of crazy ideas in her head, but this is completely appropriate for her age.
Kaya is exuberant when greeting, which she still needs to be weaned off.
We are looking for a loving but also consistent home for our pretty little one, preferably with experience with Akitas, and of course a permanent home, because she deserves only the best.
Kaya will be given away for a nominal fee.
